On tonight's 10 p.m. news on KEYC 12, we just watched a story reporting that several office suites, including Congressman Walz's office, were broken into last night. Here's the 6 p.m. report (identical to the 10 p.m. report): Walz Office Burglarized In Mankato:
A burglar strikes several offices in a downtown Mankato building, including one belonging to congressman Tim Walz.
Tonight authorities are still searching for a suspect. Officals with the Mankato department of public safety say employees at this office building on Broad and Main street, found several of their offices had been broken into this morning. Authorities believe the burglary happened sometime over night, and are not sure exactly what has been taken. They do, however, believe this is an isolated incident.
["]We haven't had an extensive burglary like this in sometime and I don't think anyone should be alerted or alarmed at this point. We don't have a rash or string of these that are occurring in our city or community.["]
If you have any information you are asked to call Mankato authorities.
We spoke with a representative for Walz this afternoon. They say no computers were taken, but the front window was broken and a mess was left behind.
