Note correction from the Walz staff--it's Monday, not Sunday.
Just in from the Walz's office:
On Monday, April 23, Earth Day, Rep. Tim Walz will join with members of the conservation community to announce funding for the Driftless Area of the Upper Mississippi River Basin. Joining Walz will be Christina Muedeking, the Natural Resources Conservation Service Regional Assistant Chief, and representatives from several other conservation organizations and government agencies.
The event, which will be held at Whitewater State Park, will draw attention to and celebrate the collaborative four-state effort to unite organizations, communities, and individuals within the Driftless Area of the Upper Mississippi River Basin. The Driftless Area encompasses 24,000 square miles of the upper Mississippi River, stretching across Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.
