The New York Times/CQ Politics includes Sixth District DFLer Bob Hill's fundraising in its round-up of congressional money races, unlike the Star Tribune--which doesn't seem to be able to dare to write his name. To be fair, however, NYTimes/CQ Politics misses Brian Davis and his $17,000 in the first, and failed to find Walz's report (hint: use the electronic filings search form, guys):
Minnesota 1 (South — Rochester, Mankato). Of the three Republican who have lined up to challenge first-term Democratic Rep. Tim Walz — state Sen. Dick Day, state Rep. Randy Demmer and local school board member Mark Meyer — Day holds a slight lead in fundraising. Day raised $94,000 for the second quarter and had $77,000 on hand, having raised $105,000 so far this year; of those amounts, he put in $23,000 of his own money to seed his campaign. Demmer reported $114,000 ($95,000 of that self-funded) in the first quarterly report of his campaign, and had $78,000 on in cash at the end of the quarter. Meyer raised just $1,700 for the quarter and had $4,500 on hand on July 1. Walz’ quarterly campaign finance report was not available as of Monday evening.
• Minnesota’s 6th District (North and east Twin Cities suburbs; St. Cloud). First-term Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann, who won in the GOP-leaning district in 2006 by 8 percentage points over Democrat Patty Wetterling, a prominent child advocate. Bachmann raised $301,000 during the second quarter of 2007; so far this year, she raised $868,000 and as of July 1 had $337,000 in cash. Democrat Bob Hill, who filed in April to challenge Bachmann, reported raising $99,000 for the quarter and had $64,000 as of July 1.
