Comments

Greetings Ollie,

My memory is not always 100 %, but I thought that Corn Plus was in the news recently for resolving either MPCA or EPA issues.

Could the comment that Corn Plus is owned by 750 farmers be a little misleading ? Is it a pure cooperative with ever member owning exactly the same amount? Or, do some own more ? I thought Bob Weerts was the head guy ... Corn Plus was on Gil Gutknecht "frequent visitor program" --- unfortunately, Gutknecht's elines are no longer available online, but I thought Gil had Weerts come to Washington to testify on behalf or his 10/10 bill. I suspect that when Gil brought Ag Sec to MSU-Mankato in March, 2006 that Corn Plus was there. But, then again Weerts claimed :

”I was a Minnesota member of an agriculture advisory council for President Bush during the time of his 2004 campaign. Congressman Gil Gutknecht helped me get on. They wanted someone to represent ethanol. I was there to help President Bush’s people with advice and to answer questions about ethanol. I talked a lot on conference calls with people in Washington, D.C.“
