Walz to speak at Sustainable Farming Association meeting Saturday

Farmpic Via Agri News, there's word of a meeting and potluck we might attend:

CLARKS GROVE, Minn. -- Rep. Tim Walz will be the featured speaker at a March 8 meeting in First Baptist Church in Clarks Grove. Registration starts at 9 a.m.

Walz will talk about farm policy at the meeting sponsored by the South Central Chapter of the Sustainable Farming Association.

A potluck meal will be served by SFA members.

Walz will discuss sustainable ag issues regarding the farm bill. Sustainable Farming Association members are interested in issues related to conservation, support for beginning farmers, and payments to farmers under commodity support programs.

Slow Food member Ron Huff will talk about aspects of his movement, which is an alternative to mass-produced highly processed food.

For more information, call Jim Tjepkema at (507) 256-4876.

Now where did I file that recipe for Cherry Garcia Cookies?
