Walz raises estimated $430,000 in Q2 2008; $1.2 million cash on hand

This just in from the Walz campaign office:

Today, Congressman Tim Walz’s campaign released estimates of its fundraising numbers for the second quarter of 2008. Walz had his strongest quarter yet, with more than 2,500 individual contributors and raising more than $430,000, bringing cash on hand for the cycle to $1.2 million.

“This proves once again that Tim Walz’s hard work and positive message is helping us create the largest grassroots campaign in the history of the First District,” said Chris Schmitter, Walz’s campaign manager. “Minnesotans are excited about the work Congressman Walz is doing to strengthen our economy, care for our veterans, make us energy independent and fight for middle-class families."

Tim has raised nearly $2 million from over 5,000 donors during the 2008 cycle.

We look forward to reading the filed report. We strongly suspect that there won't be a loan from the candidate at the last minute in order to pad the bank balance, and we know for sure there won't be any bills due past 90 days.
