While we at BSP won't be sure that the Brian Davis campaign committee only raised $100,000 in the pre-primary reporting period until we see the FEC filing, the Walz campaign just issued a press release that takes Davis on his word to the Mankato Free Press.
From the Walz campaign:
Walz Raises Almost $250,000 in Six-Week Period
Strong Fundraising Numbers Show Huge Groundswell of Grassroots Support
Today, the Walz campaign announced that Congressman Tim Walz has raised almost $250,000 in the pre-primary reporting period (July 1-August 20). So far, over 7,500 individual donors have contributed to Tim’s campaign.
In the last week, the Walz campaign has also rolled out positive radio and TV ads focusing on Tim’s bipartisan, common-sense plan to make America energy independent.
As Tim continues to build the largest grassroots campaign in the history of southern Minnesota , the campaign also announced that its grassroots army of 2,000 volunteers has made 100,000 phone calls and knocked on 60,000 doors to talk about Tim’s positive message.
Walz Campaign Manager Chris Schmitter said, “It’s clear that Tim has huge momentum in this race. People are excited about the work he’s doing in Washington to make us energy independent, care for our veterans and strengthen the economy.”
Schmitter continued, “It’s clear from the fundraising numbers in today’s Mankato Free Press that millionaire Dr. Brian Davis’ campaign is in a tailspin. His negative, partisan message is exactly what’s wrong with Washington . Even the Republican donors are rejecting it.”
Here's "Record," the first Walz television ad, along with a review of the Walz and first Davis ads from Minnesota First; Minnesota Central earlier looked at the distortions in Davis's ad, playing online and on cable at Fox News.
