Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce to host Walz-Davis debate
Sorry, Post Bulletin: while this may be the first debate between Walz and Davis, it's not their first encounter since the primary.
Worthington's King Turkey Day last Saturday takes that honor. Those showing up for the Great Gobbler Gallop got to hear from Walz and Davis for free.
The Rochester Post Bulletin reports Chamber of Commerce to host Walz-Davis debate:
DFL Congressman Tim Walz and Republican challenger Brian Davis will hold their first debate in Rochester at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 2 at the Ramada Hotel and Conference Center.
The debate between Walz, a former Mankato teacher who is seeking his second term, and Davis, a Mayo Clinic doctor, is their first encounter since Davis grabbed the party's nomination earlier this month in the primaries.
The debate between the 1st district candidates will be hosted by the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce. The cost is $20 for chamber members and $30 for non-members.
Video of the KTD speeches is available here (yes, Davis really was that dull). The Globe covered the event in Rivals Davis, Walz talk politics.
