Deep thoughts from Ollie's garden

Japaneseggplant In a fair and just world, the cottontail munching on our kale would soon be hassenpfeffer.

Romanobeans We were taught to never pick or work among wet bean plants.  Mornings drag when we have to wait for dew to dry.

Too much sun makes lettuce bitter and spinach bolt.

Those pollinators in the squash blossoms aren't honeybees. They do a pretty good job faking it, though.

Where did all those green tomatoes come from?

Amtoad2_2 Little flatters a gardener more than having a toad establish residence, save having two or more set up housekeeping.

Our father, an lifetime member of the NRA who flirted with the John Birch Society, taught us to love arugula.

Cable ties get the job done when trellising cucumbers.

Sunflower What could be more lovely than tender young Romano beans hanging from their trellis?
