Bluestem Prairie has been highly critical of Representative Mary Franson, but she has just introduced a bill to prohibit employers from requiring social network passwords as a condition of employment, along with co-authors John Lesch, Katie Knuth, Tina Liebing and Carly Melin.
Bluestem applauds the bill and hopes that the legislature follow Franson and co-authors' lead and pass this piece of legislation ASAP. The trend has been condemned by a broad spectrum of groups, ranging from the ACLU to Facebook itself.
Update: Sean Nienow is the author of SF2565, a companion bill in the Senate.
