Reports filtering in from friends in the First and news media indicate that voter turnout in the primary appears to be low. Perhaps voters are indeed not impressed.
Just after 4:00 p.m., KAAL-TV in Austin MN reported in Voter Turnout Low for Primary:
We talked with election officials in Olmsted County Tuesday afternoon. They told us so far turnout has been very low, only about five percent. At one polling location we stopped at, there are 715 registered voters and only 25 had showed up to vote.
KEYC-TV in Mankato reported in its midday broadxast, Low Turnout Expected For Primary:
Voters across the Mankato area stopped by their designated precincts this morning. We won't know until the numbers are all in, but thus far election judges say voter turnout has been low across the city.
In Poll traffic slow in Minn. primary election, KTTC-TV reported just after noon:
Blue Earth County Elections Director Patty O'Connor says the highest turnout she had heard of by around 10 a.m. was a Mankato precinct where about 30 people out of 3,000 eligible voters had voted.
We'll post more as additional news arrives.
