After reading pro-Cravaack letter last week in the Duluth News Tribune that also touted Iron Range community colleges and tech schools, Bluestem asked Fact checking DNT Letter: Is Chip Cravaack good for Iron Range community & technical colleges?
The answer wasn't positive for Chip Cravaack; the freshman congressman have voted to cut Pell Grants, to slash TRiO and other counter-productibe measures.
Seems like we weren't the only ones checking out his record on post-secondary education. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee released its first ad slamming Cravaack on education. The script, via the DCCC's website:
Script of DCCC IE AD “Tradition”:
Voiceover: In Minnesota, we have a tradition of valuing education.
That’s why Chip Cravaack’s priorities are so wrong.
Cravaack voted to cut Pell Grants for 23,000 Minnesota college students.
He voted to cut overall education funding by $115 billion. And Cravaack supported eliminating the Department of Education.
All while voting to give millionaires a new tax cut.
Chip Cravaack. He’s just wrong for Minnesota.
