GIL SPEAKS: WIKIPEDIA
Maybe it's just us, but Gil Gutknecht is sounding a bit defensive today in the New Ulm Journal:
When asked to comment on the Wikipedia article, Gutknecht said he didn’t even know what Wikipedia was before it came to his attention. He called the article listed under his name “a slanted biography.”
He said his staff tried to put his official biography, saying they did so “because anybody can edit a Wikipedia article.” He said the first version reappeared 10 minutes later and his staff replaced it with the official version once again only to have it disappear and be replaced by the first version once again.
Gutknecht said he found out that a 17-year old girl in Missouri polices Wikipedia and didn’t think the official version of his biography belonged on the site.
Judge the accuracy of his version of the story yourself here and here (histories with staff editing) and here. Interesting how a 15-year-old homeschooled young man has been edited by the congressman into a 17-year-old girl.
OLLIE OX CORRECTION
Raised from the comments from Noah Kunin: No, he's not referring to Daniel Bush. He's referring to the Wikipedia
Overlord, who moderates the entirety of Wikipedia, with an iron fist
and who just happens to be a 17 year old girl.
Thanks! So what's he got against 17-year-old girls?
SECOND UPDATE
Yes--it's Friday folks, and the Overlord exchange is a joke.
