Has anyone considered that Derailments Made Everyday (DM&E) is just trying to force a competing railroad to buy them for an extravegant price, and has no intention to actually build their billion dollar boondoggle? Last winter BNSF listed openings for track maintainence workers, listing locations where they needed workers. Besides the usual towns along the BNSF tracks, they were looking for workers in several towns along the DM&E that were far way from any BNSF tracks. So was BNSF considering buying up DM&E as a defensive move? And is DM&E just scamming us taxpayers to up the price for their all but abandoned railroad?
