What's the frequency, Gilbert: an odd media tale of the old First

A friend who made the trek to the swearing-in festivities last week has shared an eye-opening tale.

While touring Representative Walz's new office, she learned that the four televisions transferred from departing Representative Gil Gutknecht's office were set to allow access only to CSPAN, CSPAN2 and Fox News. Walz's staff had to reprogram the sets in order to watch CNN and other cable news programs in addition to those enjoyed by Gutknecht and his staff.

Perhaps the rigid viewing choices explain why Gutknecht seemed so out-of-touch in debates, and his campaign failed to see what hit them in the First.
