Mankato's local television station reports in print and video on Walz's part in the Iraq resolution debate:
First district congressman Tim Walz was among those who weighed in on a spirited debate over the Iraq war. During the three day debate elected officials voiced concerns of President Bush's plan to send more troops overseas. Walz and other war critics say the resolution will send a message to the white house that a new direction is needed in Iraq while opponents say it sends the wrong message to the Troops and the enemy.
[Walz said:] Even as foreign policy experts, military experts, congress, and the American public show an overwhelming desire to change course and oppose this escalation, this administration ignores all evidence and stumbles on.
