In Tim Walz: Speak Out and Be Heard, the Albert Lea Tribune's Sarah Light reports on Saturday's Iraq War Town Hall:
The best way to make a difference in the fight to stop the Iraq War is for average Americans to step up and have their voice be heard, 1st District Congressman Tim Walz said Saturday during a forum about the war at the Elks Club.
“We have to continue to have these conversations,” Walz said. “We have to continue hearing your frustrations, your passions.”
Because it is from these conversations that solutions come, he said.
Despite what some may think, people’s letters and calls of concerns do make a difference.
“This issue is being discussed all the time,” Walz said. “The American public needs to be weighing in.”
He gave the people in attendance at the forum an update on the Iraq War, along with explaining what the role of Congress is during times of war.
