We just received a media advisory from Congressman Walz's office:
. . . Walz is traveling to the border as part of a congressional fact-finding trip that will allow Members to comprehensively review security measures put in place at the border by the Department of Homeland Security. Walz and other members of the Congressional Delegation will meet with U.S. Border Patrol agents, review security measures such as K-9 units, new technologies, and border fencing, and will visit detention centers. Rep. Walz organized the trip with the assistance of staff from the Department of Homeland Security.
The trip has been in the works for several months now, according to congressional staff.
