Now that Randy Demmer's FEC report is available online, Edward Felker at the Post Bulletin's Political Party blog has issued an Update: Walz is clear cash leader.
The veteran reporter concludes:
With his $750,000 on hand at the end of the year, Walz was far and away the cash leader in the race, with the three Republican challengers showing bank accounts under $100,000.
We suspect that this cash advantage will fade once the First District Republican pick their man on March 29, but given that the endorsing convention takes place two days before the end of Q1 2008, the winner and his allies will have to hustle to have some change to show in the next quarterly report.
Took a cruise through the FEC report. To Demmer's credit, many SE MN business owners. Looking at a number of construction related businesses here; by chance is Demmer on construction related committees at the State House? Eyota Ethanol Plant developer has donated. Vast majority of donators are men. A few wives, a secretary, a coowner, are listed. Is this typical?
