The Sioux City Journal reports that
Herseth, King pledge support for water project. Along with Congressman Walz, they've written a joint statement of support for the project despite Bush's zeroing out the water system in his latest budget.
The paper also notes the objections of South Dakota's U.S. senators:
Previously, the two U.S. senators from South Dakota, Tim Johnson and John Thune, said the zero budget proposal was shocking, and they would seek to obtain funding.
