USAction MN To Host Iraq Veterans Roundtable Discussion with Congressman Tim Walz on 5th Anniversary of War
Rep. Walz to Hear First Hand Accounts on the Cost of War from Iraq Veterans and Pledge Support Upon their Return
Mankato, MN-On Wednesday, March 19, the fifth anniversary of the beginning of the war in Iraq, USAction MN will host Rep. Tim Walz as he listens to Minnesota National Guard Members and Iraq War Veterans discuss what their sacrifices have meant to themselves and their families and how we can best support our troops when they return. The Mankato event will be one among hundreds across the country, which together will comprise the largest single day of action since the war started in 2003.
Nearly 4,000 U.S. troops have been killed in Iraq, 30,000 more have been wounded, and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis have lost their lives.
USAction leads a national coalition of academics, advocates, grassroots leaders, labor organizations, progressive organizations and others to bring a safe and responsible end to the war and invest in America's Future, most importantly, our veterans.
