Meanwhile, GOP challenger tells the Owatonna People's Press that Walz is to blame for the country's economic woes, while taking a page from Congresswoman's widely ridiculed remarks that expanded drilling will solve the perceived crisis on Wall Street:
. . .To boost the economy, Davis would propose expanding domestic drilling and promoting nuclear, coal and alternative forms of energy. . .
The ever-articulate Walz campaign manager Chris Schmitter dismisses his rattlings:
. . .Walz campaign manager Chris Schmitter issued a statement Thursday saying that Walz remains skeptical of the bailout and doesn’t want Wall Street investors to run away with taxpayer money.
On energy, Schmitter said Walz helped write a “bipartisan, common-sense energy plan” extending offshore drilling and investing $1 trillion to transition into new, clean fuels. He also voted this week to allow the ban of offshore drilling to expire.
“As usual, Dr. Davis is distorting Tim Walz’s record of fighting for middle-class families,” he said.
Walz is running for re-election for the First District. Although he is considered vulnerable in this election, Walz is ahead of Davis in internal polls conducted by the Davis campaign.
Any wonder why Davis's primary win isn't garnering any serious second look from the national electoral forecasters?
