Where are the Davis ads? So far, he's only had one, a pre-primary vehicle that aired before September 9.
Update: We just received this press release about the ad from the Walz campaign:
Walz Releases Ad Featuring Local Veteran
Walz Cuts Through Red Tape for Penrose
( Mankato , Minn. ) – Today, Congressman Tim Walz, a retired Army National Guard Command Sgt. Major, released the third ad of his 2008 campaign, entitled “Commitment.
The ad features Walz telling the story of Richard Penrose, a disabled Vietnam Veteran who resides in southern Minnesota.
Penrose, who served as a Chief Warrant Officer in Vietnam, suffered from PTSD and the effects of Agent Orange upon his return to the United States. Mr. and Mrs. Penrose fought the VA for years before Walz stepped in and ensured Richard received all the benefits he earned.
As a fellow veteran and a member of the House Veterans Affairs Committee, Congressman Walz has successfully gone to bat with the VA and the Department of Defense for dozens of veterans since taking office in January of 2007. Walz has also fought to increase care and benefits for our veterans, from the new GI Bill to new research for Traumatic Brain Injuries to increasing mileage reimbursement for veterans who have to travel to distant VA clinics.
We'd posted about Penrose's case back in July 2007 when he and his wife Rose wrote a letter to the Caledonia Argus thanking Walz, his staff, VA staff, and the local Veterans Service officer, Robert Gross, for helping to resolve the issue.
