Yesterday, we noted in Walz's no vote on bailout bill prompts support from Owatonna restaurant owner that a traditionally (and prominent) Republican business owner in Owatonna was supporting Walz. The Owatonna People's Press article mentioned that Theodore Boosalis and the Walz campaign were working on a campaign stop before the election.
Late last night, the Owatonna People's Press published this short item online, Walz to stop in Owatonna:
On Monday, Congressmen Tim Walz will visit Costas Chocolates in Owatonna. This visit is unique in that Costas Chocolates owner, Theodore Boosalis is known as a prominent local Republican. This year he has shown his support for Democrat Tim Walz in his reelection bid for Congress.
Walz will make his appearance from 10:15-10:45 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 20, at Costas Chocolates, 112 North Cedar Avenue. The public is welcome to attend.
WCCO produced a feature about the store in 2005, A Sweet Spot Worth A Stop In Owatonna, (video here). Congressman Walz often talks about finding "the sweet spot" in policy making, so the candy shop should be a comfortable venue.
