Just in from the state DFL:
DFL Congressional Delegation Jointly Denounces Bachmann’s Divisive Comments
In wake of Bachmann’s outrageous remarks Friday, DFLers Klobuchar, Oberstar, Peterson, McCollum, Ellison and Walz issue joint statement
St. Paul (October 20, 2008) — After Republican Representative Michele Bachmann (MN-06) on Friday called for an investigation into Members of Congress with whom she disagrees, the six DFL members of Minnesota 's congressional delegation issued a joint statement.
The following statement may be attributed to United States Senator Amy Klobuchar, United States Representative James Oberstar, United States Representative Collin Peterson, United States Representative Betty McCollum, United States Representative Keith Ellison and United States Representative Tim Walz, all of Minnesota :
“For Michele Bachmann to go on national television and say that Members of Congress should be investigated for ‘anti-American views’ calls into question her judgment and her ability to work in a bipartisan way to put the interests of our country first in this time of crisis.
“Like Colin Powell, who called Bachmann's comments ‘nonsense,’ we are embarrassed by her comments.
“All Members of Congress — Democrats and Republicans — swear an oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States and for Michele Bachmann to question their loyalty is outrageous.
“We pride ourselves in Minnesota on our clean and civil elections, but Michele Bachmann's comments run entirely counter to that tradition. All Americans, regardless of their political beliefs, should reject these kinds of divisive, inappropriate and unacceptable comments.”
Bachmann called for investigation into members of Congress On “Hardball with Chris Matthews,” Bachmann called for investigation into which members of Congress are “pro-America?” and which are “anti-America.” After Bachmann repeatedly slandered Senator Barack Obama, Matthews asked her whether she believes there are members of Congress who are anti-American. Bachmann replied: "What I would say — what I would say is that the news media should do a penetrating exposé and take a look. I wish they would. I wish the American media would take a great look at the views of the people in Congress and find out, are they pro-America or anti-America? I think people would love to see an exposé like that." Update: This just came in from El Tinklenberg's campaign. From the sounds of it, people are still ticked off about Bachmann's inappropriate suggestions:

Is Bachmann at all related to Joe McCarthy?
