Via Govtrack.us, we've learned that Congressman Walz is a co-sponsor of H.R. 682, along with Louise Slaughter. Introduced by Washington State's Brian Baird, the legislation is intended
To prohibit securities and commodities trading based on nonpublic
information relating to Congress, and to require additional reporting
by Members and employees of Congress of securities transaction, and for
other purposes.
Essentially, it's an anti-corruption, good government measure. The text of the bill is not yet available online, though we're guessing that it's probably close to the Baird bill introduced in 2007, H.R. 2341.
