A friend forwarded this image of the reservation on the room for the Hagedorn announcement press conference in Rochester.
Though the spelling is slight bit off, I'll venture a guess that the "Gregg Pepin" in the sign is political consultant Gregg Peppin of P2B Strategies, especially given that Whois reveals that P2b Strategies registered the domain name.
His professional biography on the site says:
Gregg Peppin is a highly-respected Republican activist and strategist with over 25 years campaign experience.
As Director of the Minnesota House Republican Campaign Committee, Gregg was the architect of the GOP takeover of the Minnesota House of Representatives in 1998. From 1992 to 2002, he led the Republican Caucus to a 32-seat gain by recruiting and training hundreds of candidates, instructing candidates at dozens of campaign schools, and executing countless candidate and independent expenditure media campaigns.
Gregg worked for 18 years at the Minnesota Capitol in several capacities, including as the Executive Assistant to the Speaker of the House and Majority Leader.
The St. Paul Legal Ledger has honored Gregg with its “Top Legislative Staff” award, describing him as “a tireless worker – always the professional” who
“put Republicans in the majority.” Gregg has dual Bachelor’s Degrees in Political Science and History from the University of Minnesota and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Hamline University. He is a member of the I-94 West Chamber of Commerce and the Rogers Lions Club. Gregg is a frequent guest political analyst on Almanac, a Twin Cities Public Television show highlighting political, legislative and public affairs.
Gregg and his wife, State Representative Joyce Peppin, live in Rogers, Minn., with their two children.
I'm checking with First District contacts to see if Peppin was there. And while being a political consultant is just a job, I do have to wonder what State Representative Randy Demmer must think about the spouse of a fellow House caucus member working for Hagedorn.
A new post by Paul Schmelzer at the Minnesota Independent, "Walz challenger scrubs jokes about Wellstone mourners, Grams’ infidelities from site Hagedorn's cuts echo Wikipedia edits by former CD1 Rep. Gutknecht" should give everyone pause about this campaign. In an interview with MPR, Hagedorn cited his sense of humor as one of his assets in the campaign. Really? How proud of his humor can he be if he scrubs it or edits it out?
So proud of his sense of humor, he scrubs away any past evidence of it that wasn't vetted by professional minders!
