It's not the Rochester Area Republican Women's web site, since that domain's content doesn't seem to have been updated since 2008.
Nor do you find it on the front page of the Republican Party of Olmsted County's site, but dig into the calendar, and you'll find that Congresswoman Bachmann is the club's speaker on Monday. For $20 (now $25 payable on the day of), RARW club members can enjoy coffee, tea and dessert along with the utterances of the Nostradamus of the North Star State on Monday.
I'm betting the Rochester Post Bulletin will be there, flexing its powers as the interpreter of oracles. The last time the Sybil of the Sixth was in town, the PB's editorial board came away with the notion that Bachmann opposes medical malpractice reform
Perhaps the gentlewoman from the Sixth spends time in the First because of the karmic connection between the two representatives.
Yes, Michele Bachmann and Congressman Tim Walz have something in common in addition to serving in Congress together. As Bluestem noted last year around this time:
Actually, Walz's birthday isn't until April 6th, a date he shares with Congresswoman Bachmann, a fact that caused us to firmly reject astrology.
Seizing the moment, we asked if Congressman Walz was going to permanently move his birthday back into March rather than share the honors with his media-hound colleague from the Sixth.
Smiling as impishly as only a former National Guard command sergeant major and football coach can, Walz said, "Oh no. I always say it's karma."
He paused.
"This keeps the universe balanced," he said, taking his leave with his family.
There will be another birthday party this year, at a supporter's home in Rochester on Tuesday. Checkthe Walz campaign calendar for the event details.
As Populista pointed out in a post earlier this week, it's up to those of us who support Walz's vote for health care reform to get his back. There's an Act Blue page for that. Those who want to give directly to the Walz campaign can help light the candles on his birthday cake by clicking here.
The DNC is getting Congressman Walz's back with the ad below. Can you help as well? Since the Bachmann event is $25.00, I recommend giving at least that. Call it karmic balance.
