Pity poor Randy Demmer.
His Q2 2010 FEC fundraising report has been posted and it's typical of his reports--mistakes rule, even though he hired a FEC Compliance firm to help him out and cut a check for $997.00 for its services.
In the itemized contributions, many donors' careers aren't identified as required as required by law. the compliance specialists wrote "Best Effort," but I noticed familiar names in the list: Representative Bob Gunther, State Senator Julie Rosen, and former Congressman Vin Weber, along with high profile Republican donors like Mark Davis, Robert Cummins and the CEO of Best Buy.
And then there are two Demmer relatives.
Why didn't the compliance firm check the FEC individual contributor database or JFG the names? Pehaps it took Demmer's opposition to the DISCLOSE act as a signal that the Hayfield Republican doesn't like transparency. We're not that close and so I can't answer that question.
In the spirit of transparency and traditional rural co-operation, I decided to help Representative Demmer out and locate the information missing in his report. The "Best Effort" donors are below, with links to contributor career information. I did this for free, unlike Demmer's consultants.
However, if Representative Demmer and other Republicans appreciate this work, please drop a little coin in Bluestem's tip jar. Heck, any reader could do that.
