SLYTHERINS FOR EMMER!

Susan Rego

I suspect the critters were the idea of the local Republicans. The turtle appears to be a tortoise. Snakes are a fairly common pet, but where does one acquire a tortoise?

The symbolic animal message might work better at a county fair - watch for it at the local Republican booth.

In my area, which is Emmer's House district, the DFL unit in the Delano 4th of July parade was headed by a mini donkey for a few years. The donkey was quite a hit with the children, as you might expect, but also with parade "royalty" who flocked around before the parade started to have their pictures taken with him.

Emmer noticed. After a couple of years, his unit included a "unicorn" which was a goat that was surgically altered or maybe bred to have a single horn.

It's just too bad that Republicans don't use an elephant in their parade units. I suppose the clean-up is prohibitive.

Snake: Stop putting the squeeze on small business.

Turtle: Slow down spending.

Charlie Quimby

Slow down spending (turtle) and stop the squeeze (snake). Most coherent Emmer has been so far.
