Reading Randy Demmer's Facebook page is like looking into funhouse mirrors: the distorted images are pretty good for laughs.
Take the College Republicans bragging about "protesting" Tim Walz's vote for cap-and-trade. Only one lives in the district and the protest--such as it was--took place in the Seventh Congressional District.
Moreover, the protest by the adept college students was brought to a stop by local law enforcement. Walz's campaign manager posted photos on his Facebook page of the close encounter with the sheriff's department.
One University of Duluth student (hometown: Lino Lakes) wrote on the page:
Ryan Lyk Great debate. Best part of the day was when the cops stopped us from protesting Walz.Wednesday at 2:16am ·
Rumor has it that the law actually was concerned that the guys would get hit by farmers speeding to get to the Farm show; i.e. they stopped the students from becoming roadkill.
Just as entertaining, this comment:
Tony Kunz Walz is a errand boy for Obama. He voted for everything Obama wanted and absolutly did NOT do his job and vote they way of his constituants. He has pissed all over us and now it's our turn to return the favor. The only problem is he still gets paid for doing his job ABSOLUTELY WRONG for the rest of his life. Full salary, full health benefits. Something is WRONG with that. Can you help with that Randy??? It is not enough to fire him, I want to see these a$#&*les have to try to make a living in this mess THEY created!Tuesday at 5:42pm
It's not just the non-standard spelling or the affection for water sports that makes this so entertaining. This guy repeats the false urban legend that U.S Representatives draw there salaries even after they leave office. Snopes Urban Legend Reference page calls it false. It simply isn't true.
In fact, Walz isn't even drawing his full salary now. as part of a campaign pledge in 2006, Walz returns all of the raises he has received (including past raises) to the U.S. Treasury.
Then there's Demmer's own approach to government spending on Randy Demmer. Never met a government business or farm subsidy check or per diem he didn't like.
