Here's hoping that Representative Mark Buesgens receives the help he needs. [Update 9/22: in the extended hood cam video of Buesgens' arrest on Saturday under suspicion of driving under the influence, now posted at KSTP, the Jordan Republican tells the Wright County officer that he has "a little Parkinsons." While a serious illness and grave financial difficulties don't excuse Buesgens' behavior behind the wheel, they should provoke my readers' sympathy. These are truly sad fates to befall anyone. end update]
[Update 9/23: The AP reported that the sale has been called off. Read the entire report at WCCO. end update].
According to a legal notice in the Jordan Independent (see upper left hand corner of the PDF at the link), Buesgens' home at 4500 Golfview Drive in Jordan, Minnesota, is under foreclosure procedures and will be sold at a sheriff's sale on October 14, 2010. The amount owed on the mortgage is $717,288.99.
I wonder what the circumstances of this are. I also wonder how Buesgens voted on measures in the Minnesota House about mortgage relief.
For the record, I learned about the foreclosure from a comment left on this article in the Jordan Independent, Buesgens accused of driving drunk through ditch, then searched for the legal notice.
Second update 9/22: The Strib has picked up this story, without mentioning Bluestem's original yestrday afternoon. That's pretty silly, given that the link itself has been on the paper's own political page for twenty hours. Guess only Twin Cities blogs get credit for original reporting by the Star Tribune in its own material. Stay classy, metro journos!
The Strib's shabby treatment of you just makes me ill.

Meh. It's pretty entertaining, actually.
