The Rochester Post Bulletin reports in Recount costs to be paid soon, Republicans say:
Unpaid bills owed to Olmsted and Mower counties from last year's governor's race recount are set to be paid soon, state Republican Party chairman Tony Sutton said.
"The checks ... are going out before the end of next week," Sutton said. "By the end of the month, they'll have their payment."
The party owes Olmsted County $3,050 and Mower County $2,424 for their costs of retrieving, preparing and sending voter data requested by Republicans for the election recount. . . .. . .County Election Administrator Pam Fuller turned over the matter to Tom Canan in the Olmsted County attorney's office this week. Canan spoke with a party official on Wednesday.
"We got a promise they're going to take care of (the bill) in the near future," he said. "We're hoping they will."
Earlier in March, the Post Bulletin had reported that the Republican Party's failed burrito baron and Chair Tony Sutton had blown a gasket when asked about the money owed to Mower County.
Prior reports in the Post Bulletin didn't include news of money the Republican Party of Minnesota owed to Olmsted County.
