Fans of the Emo Senator may remember our last episode of Southern Minnesota's most beloved telenovella, in which the Dark Lord of the Minnesota Senate jumped into the First Congressional race.
Minnesota Senate Majority Michael Brodkorb continues his bid for office in Minnesota's First Congressional District, under the guise of managing the Emo Senator's campaign. PIM's Brian Bierschbach reports that Brodkorb has emailed a press release announcing the collapse of the congressional aspirations of The Draz:
Republican Rep. Steve Drazkowski has endorsed Sen. Mike Parry’s campaign against DFL Rep. Tim Walz in Minnesota’s 1st Congressional District after previously considering his own bid for the seat.
Parry, a two-term senator from Waseca, announced the endorsement in a campaign email on Monday.
The email reminded Mike Parry that he owns a small business (a fact he fortuitously forget last spring when it came time to take per diem; during that episode bout of amnesia, The Emo Senator wanted a higher salary for his state legislative duties).
But that cash stream certainly isn't enough for the real candidate on this ticket, Senate Leader Brodkorb, who jumped ship from a financially sinking Republican party to make his congressional bid by proxy.
Fans of the Diva Empress of Waseca look forward to watching Parry spin Congressman Walz's own refusal to take any of the pay raises U.S. representatives have received since the Mankato DFLer was elected in 2006. Walz returns all raises to the U.S. Treasury.
Stay tuned for more exciting press releases.
