Nevermind the social media flurry of concern about the release a report of initial findings by the House Ethics Committee along with its announcement that it's extending its investigation into alleged campaign finance irregularities by Congresswoman Michele Bachmann.
The Republican activist base in Minnesota's Sixth remains indifferent to the situation.
St. Cloud Times political reporter Mark Sommerhauser writes in Bachmann ethics probe announcement stirs little in Minnesota:
For all the attention on ethics questions surrounding Bachmann, the leading Republican in her district says party activists and rank-and-file voters aren’t taking note. Luke Yurczyk, GOP chair in Minnesota’s 6th Congressional District, said voters are more interested in issues such as a possible U.S. military strike in Syria.
“I’m not hearing much about it from Republicans in the district,” Yurczyk said. “They’re focused on much larger issues.”
Bluestem looks forward to the coming scrum between frontrunner Tom Emmer and those other cats, which should prove to be the total Balm of Gilead for the Sleepy Sixth.
