Whether it's the United Nations, Muslims or the menace of conservation grazing, the world is a scary place for the admin of the Central Minnesota Tea Party blog.
After asking question in headline, So what is the long range agenda of the homosexual movement?, the admin supplies the answer in the form of a Selwyn Duke column--reprinted from the John Birch Society magazine The New American--although column has been posted widely across the conservative blogosphere.
Duke (a long retired professional tennis player who glimmered briefly in the 1980s) writes in The Slippery Slope to Pedophilia:
Yet if I say that our current cultural trajectory — a bizarre trek that has caused us to boldly go where no American had gone before — has as a point on its arc the acceptance of pedophilia, I’m sure I’ll hear “never, ever under the stars and stripes!” This is a normal human reaction. But the past is a picture of futures man inevitably will paint again, and history hollers its warnings for those with ears to hear.
First consider a simple fact: There is virtually no historical precedent — if any at all — for faux [same-sex] marriage, yet we’re accepting it. But there is great historical precedent for pedophilia, that thing most would currently say we could never accept. . . .
One has to pause at that logic. If pedophilia has always been with us, as Duke claims, and has been accepted in cultures such as the ancient Greeks, as Duke claims, one wonders why the institution of same sex marriage, which he calls "faux" marriage and believes to be without precedent, is somehow a "slippery slope" for pedophilia.
Duke blithers on for hundreds of words about biology and such, but it's unconvincing, just another iteration of the notion--expressed so plainly in the local headline--that there's a hidden agenda in LGBTQ people claiming a basic humanity.
