Oh, and as to how Germany came to be bankrupt, as I understand it, that had little to do with any policies of the Weimar time, whether about cabaret or otherwise. As I understand it, it had to do with the preceding Reich deciding to fight a war without any plan for how to pay for it, because they would be able to get the defeated nations to pay. Except for that they wound up being the defeated nation. Oops.
