Minnesota ALEC public co-chair state representative Pat Garofalo (R-Farmington) is well known for trolling progressives on twitter.
From fake tweeting a trip to an ALEC meeting at an exclusive Florida resort in 2012 to Friday night's tweet comparing environmentalists' reaction to PolyMet Mining commercials during the Minnesota state hockey tournament to his own pro-life response to Planned Parenthood commercials, Garfalo's always casting about for some outrage.
But today, his trolling caused him to get caught by his own bait.
Garfalo tweeted:
Let's be honest, 70% of teams in NBA could fold tomorrow + nobody would notice a difference w/ possible exception of increase in streetcrime

SportsGrid reports in Minnesota State Representative’s Racist NBA Tweet Bounces Around Twitter, Leaves A Big Mess that Garofalo isn't terribly bright, as if this schtick were an accidental slip, rather than standard operating procedure.
Bluestem doesn't think so. This is a guy who enjoys pushing boundaries. Garofalo excuses himself in KARE11's Minn. lawmaker gets attention for controversial tweet:
Garofalo told KARE 11 that the negative reaction came as a surprise and that his tweet had nothing to do with the fact that the majority of NBA athletes are African American.
"I really don't understand how being critical of a culture of pro athletes has anything to do with race," Garofalo said. "This is a behavior that transcends the race of the athlete, and it seems to be a culture in all professional sports these days."
Okay then.
