UPDATE: Andy Post from the Seifert for Governor note has sent the following note of clarification:
Just wanted to write you a note rather than comment. I can confirm for you that the event on Saturday is not at any property owned by Sue Nelson. The property is of another supporter. You should also know that while Marty has supporters that fell on both sides of the Franson/Nelson endorsement contest, Marty respects the decision made by the delegates at the convention in this race. Thanks for the chance to provide some additional information.
On Facebook today, Christian American Wife and mother Ginny Saul, of Fergus Falls, posted a status that suggests that Perham Republican activist Sue Nelson isn't going to take no for an answer from her party.
Moreover, a source tells Bluestem that Marty Seifert's Fishing Opener will be having a cookout Saturday afternoon at the Nelson cabin at Rush Lake. (See note at the top the post).
Nelson lost her bid to take the Grand Old Party's endorsement from Mary Franson at the House District 8B endorsing convention last month.
Saul posted:
So excited we are going to have a primary in Dist 8 for Mn State House Rep of MN so excited for Sue Nelson to be representing MN
There's nothing up on the Sue Nelson for Representative website or Facebook page yet indicating that this is indeed Nelson's plan, so we will look for more clues.
As the endorsed candidate, Franson will receive support from the House Republican Campaign Committee, access to voter files kept by the Republican Party of Minnesota and other party support.
On the left side of the ballot, Alexandria Tech community college instructor Jay Sieling is poised to run as a DFLer, Bluestem reported last week. Sources in the Alexandria area tell Bluestem that Sieling is a thoughtful progressive whose doctor wife is highly respected in the community. They predict that Sieling will campaign on issues and policy, not Franson's colorful personal life.
Is Seifert Fishing Opener brat roast a covert Nelson campaign event?
It's no secret that Republican gubernatorial candidate Marty Seifert is hosting his own Fishing Opener. On April 29, the Star Tribune's Baird Helgeson reported in GOP's Seifert launches his own fishing opener:
This year, Marty Seifert is trying to start his own tradition, creating the Seifert For Governor 2014 Minnesota Fishing Opener.
The event will be held at Thumper Pond Resort and Rush Lake in Otter Tail County on May 9 - 10. Seifert is inviting fellow Republicans, media and supporters.
DFL Gov. Mark Dayton, who is seeking a second term, is hosting the 67th Minnesota Governor’s Fishing Opener on May 8 – 11 in the Brainerd Lakes Area. Grand View Lodge is serving as event headquarters.
The event is the traditional kickoff to Minnesota’s summer tourism season.
Seifert and the five other GOP candidates are all clawing for any edge to break free. Seifert was the first to announce he will hold a formal response to Dayton’s State of the State address Wednesday night...
The Marshall Republicans announced his Own Opener three days after Nelson lost the endorsement on April 26. According to Bluestem's source, the Seifert campaign plans an afternoon brat cookout at the Nelson cabin on the Otter Tail River from 2:00 p.m to 5:00 p.m. (See Seifert campaign statement at the top of the post).
Perhaps it's a case of birds of a feather: Seifert is planning to run in the Republican gubernatorial primary if he isn't endorsed at the state convention.

Editor's note: Those Baltimore Orioles we posted about this morning are so going to regret singing on our street when the NSA gets through with them. Also: someone doesn't understand the part about IP addresses or the Internets
Comment: Sally are you telling me that you took a message of someone's private Facebook wall that you are not friends with and posted it on the internet for everyone to see? Do you ANY boundaries?
I hope Mrs. Saul sues your ass.
Sure wish I was at the NSA, I'd love to expose some of your private thoughts to the world.
