In the most recent edition of the Shakopee Valley News, Cristeta Boarini reports in Lawmakers: Session was quick with full agenda:
. . . Beard and Albright both pointed to legislation that raised the minimum wage to $9.50 by 2016 — with ties to inflation after 2018 — as measures that could have used more debate and fine-tuning. . . .
That's a remarkably different perspective than what Mary Juhl reported on Valentine's Day in the Shakopee Valley News's article Wide-ranging topics await area legislators:
Albright said legislators are missing the target by focusing on the minimum wage, and should instead look at broader solutions to create more jobs throughout the state.
“Why can’t we create the types of jobs that do provide for a family to live on?” Albright said. “I think it’s a misdirection, and if it were the minority’s position, they would work harder to address the issue of job creation.”
Perhaps he can check out the report of the Select Commission on Living Wage Jobs.
