One young conservative staffer or intern's life may be getting a little sticky soon.
The Republican Party of Minnesota's August monthly spending report filed with the FEC includes a purchase from Amazon.com of a "Duck costume for events."
Since Game Fair is over, we're guessing that a young Republican will be tasked to show up at State Fair appearances by Al Franken, Mark Dayton and others as a sight gag on the gentlemen "ducking" debates. It's a bit more original than the standard chicken suit, but likely to be just as stifling on a hot summer day
At least, that's what we hope the duck suit is for.
UPDATE: Star Tribune political reporter Abby Simons tweets from the Minnesota State Fair:
@sallyjos Sure it wasn't a chicken? pic.twitter.com/mlnyU8vtUK

We replied:
@AJillSimons Report sez "Duck costume for events." #MNGOP has had that chicken suit since Brodkorb was a pup pic.twitter.com/6NIDIC8hwn

Research indicates it's a different chicken suit, if same old schtick, as Brodkorb's 1998 gig, pictured here in a 1998 file photo from the St. Paul Pioneer Press:
How stale is the chicken schtick? Last January, the Minnesota DFL put the meme to work in its Chicken à la McFadden recipe:
This week Minnesotans learned that investment banker Mike McFadden would be skipping his third Republican debate. The Rochester Tea Party Patriots are hosting a U.S. Senate Candidate forum next week, Jan. 16, in Rochester. McFadden told Tea Party organizers that “he does not plan to attend,” despite knowing about the forum for more than four months.
It's enough to make us swear off Colonel Sanders forever.
