Pat Williams was on the receiving end of a lot of criticism after he accused state representative Joe Radinovich of not living in House District 10B, while suggesting that Radinovich worked for a public employees union--and that was a conflict of interest.
Bluestem was part of that chorus, with our post, Grumpy Tea Party Republican guy totally worried about Joe Radinovich living in a post office box. We noted another response in MN10B: Kinship Partner mother shares story of Radinovich's generous mentoring of her son.
In his latest letter, It sounds like a conflict of interest, Williams has decided that people trying to state facts about the random charges he made means that he's hit a nerve. That's certainly one way to look at it.
He concludes:
What he said and was reported by the Brainerd Dispatch sure sounds like a conflict of interest between his 10B constituents and his official union activities. Maybe he would like to provide his 2013 tax return to set the record straight.
Radinovich has supplied Bluestem Prairie with his 2012 and 2013 tax returns, which demonstrate that while employed by the American Federal Government Employees union (AFGE) in 2012, he made twice what he made in 2013, when he became a state representative.
Update: It's important note that Williams never mentions the name or nature of the union for which Radinovich worked: a union for employees of the federal government. By merely writing "public employee union," Williams pretends that there's a conflict of interest between Radinovich's service as a state representative and former work as a organizer for federal workers, none of whom work under state contracts. [end update].
