Just when we're all sick of mailboxes stuffed with independent expenditure mail pieces urging us to vote for or against candidates, Norm Coleman's Minnesota Action network pops out an "issues" mailing asking recipients to call a state senator.
Minnesota State Senators aren't on the ballot until 2016.
Seriously, we can't make this up.

What is it with Republicans and wasting money on strange mailers?
In Kansas last week, people got mailers that look like they were originally designed to favorably depict incumbent Republican Senator Pat Roberts as a nice moderate kinda guy to general-election voters, but got clumsily reworked into anti-Orman hit pieces once the race became a two-person race. (Note the retention of the "100% Kansas" line, something a hit piece would not normally possess.)
