With the assistance of twitter, Bluestem Prairie has learned that iterations of the anti-transgender ad that the Minnesota Child Protection League (CPL) published in daily newspapers in Duluth, Mankato, St. Cloud and Winona daily papers.
The CPL ad is urging readers to contact board members of the Minnesota State High School League to object to proposed guidelines for allowing transgender athletes to participate in school sports. In response to one of our requests, Don Ness, Mayor of Duluth, replied via Twitter:
@sallyjos yes - it ran in the DNT.

Update: here's the Duluth News Tribune version, Mayor Ness:

Although we have yet to confirm this hunch, Bluestem suspects that the ad ran in other Forum Communications newspapers elsewhere in the state. (The Duluth News Tribune is owned by the media chain).
Mankato Free Press staff writer Josh Moniz tweeted:
Since it's been such a big topic of discussion today, I thought I'ld note my paper also ran the controversial ad pic.twitter.com/rwUxfMt6XQ

St. Cloud Times editor Randy Krebs tweeted a photo of the ad in the Granite City Sunday edition:

As Moniz pointed out on twitter, the ads ask readers in different regions of the state to contact different individuals on the MSHSL Board of Directors.
We will update this post as we learn of additional buys in daily newspapers across the state; a friend in Rochester is checking the Post Bulletin. An earlier CLP ad opposing the proposed policy ran in the Post Bulletin, our source tells us.
For more information about the ad and the group that's behind it, see our post from earlier today MN social media leaders notice creative use of stock photo in latest MCPL anti-transgender ad.
