If Minnesota House District 12A representative Jeff Backer has won the conditional love of the chair of the Big Stone County Republican BPOU (Basic Party Operating Unit) Chair Jack Whitley, state senator Torrey Westrom earned little of the hard shell conservative's affection.
After posting a Bluestem blog entry, MN12A: Jeff Backer tells BPOU chair "to repair" damage from "perverse" laws on top of his list, and a long rambling headnote to Backer's personal page on Sunday, Whitley followed up with this comment:
JackandGwen Whitley Jeff Backer need not feel exclusive, I did the same thing to Westrom publcly because all he could talk about were economic issues. I'm glad Westrom lost.. Just one less situational ethicist we have to worry about betraying us.
Westrom represents Big Stone County in the Minnesota Senate.
Meanwhile, former US Senator Norm Coleman, whose Minnesota Action Network threw some of the money into the tidal wave of Independent Expenditures that helped elect Backer, has posted a Notes From Norm, Build On Success With A Vision, in which he urges working on a vision of limited government as "effective government," which doesn't include Whitley's social conservativism.
Will adhering to that vision create Whitley's worst nightmare, a "Metro Jeff"?
Here's a screenshot of the post (images of Backer's friends have been redacted):

Westrom can spout off GOP lines against the Dems with no thinking involved. When debating Peterson, tho, he had NO specifics - not a one!!
