Last year, the omnibus finance bill mandated that the Department of Labor and Industry (DLI) submit a report on overtime in agriculture.
According to the recently released document, the report (embedded below) was to examine specifically “ the number of agricultural employers who are using a 48-hour workweek and the number of employees affected" and make recommendations.

This study reveals that many Minnesota agricultural employers do not pay the required overtime differential to covered employees working more than 48 hours a week.
