It's a pretty easy campaign line to say that money needs to be taken away from the metro to give to the rural roads and bridges. But now that the governor's budget has been laid out, the lege committees are going to dive into them to answer those "more questions than answers." It's the obligation of even the most lowly freshmen to learn how state government works and funds things, not just continue to blather some campaign rhetoric. Rep Backer should learn where the money comes from - geographically, demographically, and such. And then where it is proposed to go. And see who is subsidizing whom.
