Bluestem Prairie is often critical of our house district's freshman representative Tim Miller (R-Prinsburg), but we believe we've stumbled across an action that deserved nothing but our highest praise for its honesty and transparency.
In a January 28, 2015 letter to the editors of the Clara City Herald,"Rep. Miller to offer session email updates," Miller signs a letter written in the singular first-person "I" with not only his only name, but that of Jason Wenisch, Minnesota House of Representatives Communications Specialist.
According to his Linked-In profile, Wenisch has worked in that position for 13 years. Prior to this serve, he worked as a television reporter for Keloland and KTTC.
It's awesome that Miller had his ghostwriter co-sign the letter. Such disclosure will help avoid that awkward moment that Representative Greg Davids (R-Preston) must have felt when this epistle turned up in the Fillmore County Journal, Rep. Davids reviews 2014 legislative session...
To the Editor,
The FCJ, Monday, June, 2, 2014, published an “article” by Jason Wenisch titled “Rep. Davids reviews 2014 legislative session”. Mr. Wenisch is a paid communications specialist for the State House Republican caucus, and not, as it would appear, a staff writer for the Journal. In fairness to readers, Mr. Wenisch’s affiliation with Mr. Davids’ caucus should have been identified with the article. Not doing so is misleading and inappropriate.
