While it's true that the Minnesota Senate State Departments and Veterans Budget Division met during Happy Hour (4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m) on Monday to consider S.F. 2802 among other bills, we doubt libations explain Ranking Minority Committee Member Senator Roger Chamberlain's (R-Lino Lakes) tweet about the bill:
In cmte, new bill regulating eyelash technicians. These dems love this, how do they come up with this stuff! Painful questioning! Aaaah!!!

The Senate author of S.F. 2802 is former Douglas County Sheriff and current Alexandria-area Republican senator Bill Ingebrigtsen. This maybe the first time anyone in the Minnesota legislature mistook him for a Democrat. Co-authors are Julie Rosen, R-Mendota, and Alice Johnson, DFL-Blaine.
The sole author of the House companion bill (HF2389) is notoriously conservative Republican Mary Franson, also of Alexandria.
As one friend observed upon see the cray-cray tweet, and we paraphrase for the sake of families and children, "Chamberlain should get his eyelashes done by some random donkey."
Bluestem just hopes he pays closer attention to details of bills in committee if he wants to make partisan tweets about them.
