Why hasn't past Secretary of Agriculture for California, A.G. Kawamura been considered for this position? He is a natural. Not only was he the Secretary of Agriculture for 7 years under Arnold Schwarzenegger but he is a 3rd generation farmer and serves on numerous boards for agriculture policy and practice.

A good question-- but our post was limited to rumored candidates with a Minnesota connection.

Elsa Murano was already a top dog in the usda and a weak one at that. No please not Elsa Murano again.
